LAX Admin East

The objective of the site analysis was to study and evaluate four potential sites, rank them and determine a preferred option for the location of administration headquarters for the Los Angeles World Airports. Facility assessments were conducted for the existing Administration East landmark building. constructed in 1961 and the Telecommunications Building. A Site Analysis of the four potential sites was conducted at three different scales: 1) Urban scale, 2) LAWA Campus, and 3) Site specific.

After selection of the Admin East site, we conducted several studies of the facility to validate its viability as the executive team’s permanent location and to then further study optimization of space utilization. This included the potential to restack Admin East space in order to achieve a higher population count, to promote a more collaborative work culture and to refresh the finishes of designated areas to help promote the LAWA brand. A workplace trend study was conducted to determine innovative strategies to be evaluated for a new space program and new space standards for LAWA and refresh the finishes of designated areas to help promote the LAWA brand.

Our scope of services included preliminary programming, presentation of Conceptual Stacking Plans based on both existing LAWA space standards and new proposed workplace standards, material and color palettes and a Cost Opinion of three renovation scenarios for selected areas, including the CEO suite, Board suite and public lobby.
