Project detail

The T4 Madrid-Barajas Airport is formed of T4 Terminal Building and the T4S Satellite Building. The first consists of four parallel volumes which cover the four essential operations in a terminal: accesses, check-in, control, and boarding. They’re separated from each other by large atriums, which allow the entry of natural light, forming part of an overall environmental strategy. The T4S connects to the T4 via a service tunnel which includes the APM. It’s formed of two volumes that house the customs control. The project has 67 assisted aircraft positions: 40 for the T4 and 27 for the T4S. The whole is completed with car parking for 9,000 vehicles, divided into 6 modules of 1,500 spaces each.

Both RSHP and Estudio Lamela have been working continuously on the building improvements and extensions including remodeling of common zones, retail areas, and the refurbishment of Iberia VIP lounges. Since 2021, the companies have been assisting the client regarding future extensions and are currently providing design services for
major T4 & T4S expansions.
